The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a one-year, full-time Visiting Lecturer in Filmmaking to begin Fall 2026. For AY 26–27, the teaching load will include a mix of introductory and upper-level courses: FILM 190 The Art of Film (a general education “Core” class), FILM 101 Introduction to Film Studies, FILM 102 Introduction to Film Production, and FILM 451 Special Topics in Film Production (exact topic determined by instructor, in consultation with the department Chair). Interested candidates should complete the online application and submit a letter of application describing interest in the position and relevant experience, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching philosophy outlining the candidate’s approach to teaching filmmaking (and related areas) and mentoring students, copy of transcripts, Portfolio of creative work (provide links to a digital portfolio of filmmaking projects. The University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the baccalaureate and master’s degrees of national and/or regional significance in the arts and sciences, business, humanities, education, and health and human services, a specialist degree in instructional technology, and PhD degrees in marine science: coastal and marine systems science and education sciences.
