Otto is a small town Wisconsin native. He's spent the majority of his life living in the same home among the nature. He has one extended conversation within the film about a strange dream in which he finds himself much older, unable to die, and eventually returns to the house where he was raised.
The performance should feel completely conversational and unperformed. The dream is strange, but he should not deliver it as though he knows it is profound or supernatural. It is simply something he remembers.
The role also involves a significant amount of physical stillness: sitting, sleeping, breathing, and existing quietly in the landscape.
