Sound Recordist - Short

LA-based indie production team seeking a Sound Recordist for a stylized, no-budget comedy short.

The project is a fast-paced, highly visual 5-page short about a neurotic insomniac navigating life in a surreal, slapstick zombie-sleepwalking state. The tone is visual, physical, and comedic, with minimal dialogue.

Shoot Dates: Aiming for August 1st and 2nd

Location: Los Angeles

Commitment: 2-day shoot

Gear: Must have your own sound recorder or reliable access to one (we have a boom pole and a shotgun mic)

We're looking to bring resourceful Sound Recordist who has an interest in capturing a visually rich story utilizing framing and pre-planning strategies. Think ''The Graduate'', visually, but on a much smaller scale. Everyone on board has a can do attitude and hopefully that's you as well.

This is a fast-paced 5 page comedy, revolving around a neurotic protagonist in a zombie sleepwalking state but with some slapstick comedy. It's heavily visual to convey the comedy of operating on no sleep. Our past short films have been featured in previous film festivals but due to the quirky nature of the story, minimal dialogue and universal relatability to insomnia.

Looking for a Sound Recordist that has their own sound recorder or access to one and wants to add a strikingly visual film to their resume and is up for the challenge.

Let us know why a challenge like this might interest you and what you can bring to this project. We're more interested in ability to help over experience and We can provide a showcase for your photographic abilities with a tight story, structured shoot, and a well prepared cast.

This will be a very organized shoot to respect cast and crew's time and make sure everyone knows how important they are to the finished film

As mentioned before this a visual heavy film that will be great for your reel/resume and we're ready to provide the logistics to show you how that can get done. Reference: ECNJOBID-66-249-66-3 in the application
