SOFT CHAOS is a character-driven microbudget dramedy about Frankie, a 28-year-old aspiring filmmaker who has spent years waiting to feel ready to make a movie. When her career and finances suddenly unravel, she discovers an old script and a film festival offering a cash prize she thinks could solve her financial problems.
With almost no money, limited experience, and an unlikely group of collaborators, Frankie sets out to make the short film in her Los Angeles apartment. As she desperately tries to keep the production - and herself - under control, the ensuing chaos forces her to confront the very thing that's kept her stuck for years: the belief that she has to feel ready before she can begin.
Tone: Naturalistic, messy, funny, intimate, and character-driven. Frances Ha and Lady Bird with bursts of production chaos.
