Senior Film Production Manager

Our client, a highly acclaimed independent film studio, is searching for an experienced Senior Film Production Manager to oversee projects in Provo, Utah, US . This role is critical for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality cinematic productions. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in managing complex film projects from pre-production through post-production, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and creative vision. This is a hands-on position requiring excellent leadership and organizational skills.

Responsibilities: Develop and manage production schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for multiple film projects concurrently. Coordinate all aspects of pre-production, including location scouting, casting, crew hiring, and equipment rental. Oversee daily on-set operations, ensuring smooth workflow, safety compliance, and efficient problem-solving. Liaise with directors, producers, cinematographers, and other department heads to facilitate creative and logistical requirements. Manage post-production activities, including editing, visual effects, sound design, and music scoring. Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, talent, and crew members. Track project expenditures, process invoices, and prepare financial reports for senior management. Ensure compliance with all legal and insurance requirements, including permits, clearances, and union regulations. Maintain effective communication channels among all stakeholders, fostering a positive and productive working environment. Anticipate potential issues and proactively develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure project success. Contribute to the creative development process by offering practical solutions and insights. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Media Arts, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in film production management, with a strong portfolio of completed projects. Demonstrated expertise in production budgeting, scheduling software (e.g., Final Draft, Movie Magic Scheduling), and project management tools. In-depth knowledge of all phases of film production, including screenwriting, directing, cinematography, editing, and sound. Experience with various film genres and production scales. Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to thrive under pressure and manage tight deadlines in a dynamic environment. Strong understanding of film industry standards, labor laws, and union agreements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. A passion for storytelling and a keen eye for cinematic quality.
