Senior Film Editor

Join a leading production house as a Senior Film Editor and bring compelling visual stories to life. This position is based in the heart of **San Diego, California, US**, and requires your physical presence in our state-of-the-art facilities. You will be responsible for assembling raw footage into a cohesive and engaging narrative, collaborating closely with directors and producers to achieve the creative vision. This role demands a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of pacing, and a deep understanding of storytelling through film.

Key Responsibilities: Edit raw film and video footage into a polished final product according to script and creative direction. Work closely with directors, producers, and other creative team members to understand project goals and achieve desired artistic outcomes. Select the best takes, arrange scenes, and ensure smooth transitions and pacing. Incorporate visual effects, sound effects, music, and color grading to enhance the final edit. Manage and organize project files, media assets, and project archives efficiently. Perform quality control checks to identify and correct errors in the edit. Stay up-to-date with the latest editing techniques, software, and industry trends. Maintain a clear understanding of the project's narrative arc and emotional impact. Deliver final edited content within project deadlines. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Film Editor with a strong portfolio of feature films, documentaries, or high-end commercial projects. Proficiency in professional editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer. Excellent understanding of storytelling, narrative structure, pacing, and rhythm. Strong technical skills in color correction, sound mixing, and basic visual effects. Ability to work collaboratively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Acute attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. A degree in Film Production, Digital Media, or a related field is preferred, but extensive experience will be strongly considered. Must be able to work on-site in San Diego, California.
