You will collaborate closely with directors, producers, and art departments to conceptualize and execute the visual style of projects, ensuring a cohesive and impactful final product.
Responsibilities: Collaborate with directors and producers to interpret scripts and develop the visual style and concept for each project. Lead the camera and lighting department on set, ensuring efficient and effective execution of the shooting plan. Operate cameras and control lighting setups to achieve the desired aesthetic and mood. Select and manage camera equipment, lenses, and lighting gear appropriate for project needs. Manage the cinematography budget and schedule, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope. Oversee the color grading process in post-production to ensure consistency and enhance the final look. Mentor and guide junior cinematographers and camera assistants. Stay current with advancements in cinematography technology, techniques, and trends. Ensure all safety protocols are strictly followed on set. Contribute creative ideas throughout the production process, from pre-production to post-production. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Cinematography, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of 8 years of professional experience as a Cinematographer, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects and a unique visual style. Proven experience in narrative filmmaking (feature films, shorts) and/or high-end commercial production. Expertise in various camera systems (e.g., ARRI, RED, Sony), lenses, and lighting equipment. Deep understanding of lighting principles, color theory, and composition. Proficiency in camera movement techniques and stabilizing equipment (e.g., Steadicam, gimbals). Strong knowledge of post-production workflows, including editing and color grading. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing production needs. A keen eye for detail and a passion for visual storytelling. Willingness to travel as required for productions.
