When his grandfather arrives from Zhejiang, China, with a mysterious, injured leg nobody will explain, Sam begins illustrating his grandfather's hidden wartime past through comics, uncovering a story that bridges generations, language, memory, and identity. Drawing inspiration from 'Didi' (2018), 'Eighth Grade' (2018), and 'Boyhood' (2014), 'Sam & I' blends grounded coming-of-age realism with hand-drawn animated storytelling.
