Richmond – Full time Videographer/Editor needed – November 6th application deadline – Paid

Virginia Film Office — Jobs Richmond, Virginia

The Virginia Film Office is hiring a full time Videographer/Editor based in Richmond, Virginia. This role sits at the intersection of production and post, with the person in the chair responsible for shooting original content and cutting it through to a finished deliverable. It suits a self-sufficient production professional who is equally comfortable behind a camera and inside an editing timeline.

About the Role
The Virginia Film Office supports film and television production across the state, and this position contributes to the content and communications work that runs alongside that mission. Day to day, the Videographer/Editor handles both field production and post-production workflow, meaning shoots and edits are often part of the same project cycle. This is a full time staff role, not a project-to-project freelance arrangement, so the work has real continuity.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and execute video shoots, including camera operation, lighting setup, and audio capture across a range of production formats.
Manage the full post-production workflow from ingest and organization of footage through to color, sound, and final export.
Edit assembled cuts and work through revision rounds to deliver polished, broadcast-ready content.
Maintain and operate production equipment, tracking gear condition and flagging any servicing needs.
Coordinate shoot logistics including location scouting, scheduling, and on-site problem solving during production days.
Archive and organize project files and media assets to support an efficient post-production pipeline.

What You Bring

Demonstrated experience as a Videographer/Editor with a reel or credits that show both production and editing work.
Proficiency in professional non-linear editing software, with strong familiarity with color grading and audio mixing tools.
Experience across multiple production types, whether documentary, corporate video, broadcast content, or promotional film work.
Ability to operate professional camera systems and manage a production independently without a larger crew.
Strong organizational habits around media management and file structure in a post-production environment.

Why This Role
The Virginia Film Office is the state's central point of contact for film and television production, which gives this position real proximity to the broader industry moving through the region. This is a paid, full time role with consistent work rather than the stop-start nature of freelance production gigs. The application deadline is November 6th, so there is a firm window to get your materials in.

Apply now for the full time Videographer/Editor position with the Virginia Film Office and put your production and post skills to work in a role with real scope.
