Position: Philadelphia 48HFP City Producer Philadelphia, United States | Posted on 03/03/2026The 48 Hour Film Project celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2025.The competition challenges teams to create a short film within 48 hours, using a randomly assigned genre, character, prop and line of dialogue.The 48 HFP city producer position is a great opportunity for someone who would like to gain valuable experience running a worldwide film competition and festival, organizing exciting and extraordinary events and screenings for filmmakers, making contacts and helping to cultivate the local film community and being a key component of one of the largest and most respected network of filmmakers and producers around the world.RequirementsThe producer position has flexible hours that can supplement your existing employment or freelance work. A successful candidate will have the following qualities:excellent organizational and communication skillsprevious festival and/or event planning experiencecreativity and problem-solving skillsknowledge of technology including email, social media, Zoom, Dropbox, Microsoft Word or similar softwaredetermination to put in time and effort to making the 48 HFP a great event for local filmmakersexisting network of personal and professional contacts with groups, businesses and individuals in the film, media and arts communitiesDesired but not required:experience in film and photo editingexperience in the independent film/media industryThe producer's duties may include, but are not limited to:organization and on-site management of all events related to the local competition including Kickoff, Drop-off, Premiere Screenings, "Best of" Screenings, awards program and networking eventsinstigating outreach to individuals, film groups, professional organizations, arts groups, educational facilities, as well as creating and discovering new opportunities for recruiting participantseffectively communicating with participants and team leaders to ensure everyone adheres to all 48 HFP rules, regulations and standardsresponding quickly and regularly to all 48 HFP headquarters' emails, Zoom, phone calls and regular meetingsusing 48 HFP email lists, social media accounts and other tools carefully and conciselysoliciting and securing local sponsorshipmaintaining finances by following budgetary guidelines and recording accurate financial recordsTeam up!Co-producers are welcome and can be an asset to your production team.
