People Systems Specialist

Alamo’s People Systems Specialist supports the day‑to‑day functionality of Workday by assisting with configuration, testing, documentation, reporting, and data integrity activities. This role partners with the People team and business users to maintain smooth system operations and enhance the teammate experience.

This role follows a fixed hybrid schedule, requiring two designated in‑office days per week at our Austin location and three remote workdays. Physical Location: 1301 S Lamar Blvd , Austin, Texas, 78704

CORE ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Uphold standards of behavior as defined by the company Core Values, Code of Conduct and Operational GuidelinesSupport Workday configuration changes, and development under guidance from senior team membersProvide Tier 1–2 support by troubleshooting issues, validating data, and escalating when neededResearch, and test new functionality and features within Workday including system releases, enhancements, and fixesDevelop, and execute QA and user acceptance testing (UAT) scriptsEnsure that system controls and processes meet all internal and external audit requirementsCreate, and maintain detailed documentation of business processes and system functionality, including workflow, program functions, and steps required to execute system transactions/processesBuild and maintain Workday dashboards, reports, and analytics to drive business insights and sound decisions Partner with the People team and business stakeholders to gather requirements and support process improvementsBe a leader of change management and advocate for process improvementMaintain an understanding of the product and the underlying, business processes in order to predict downstream implications of issues and changes, and allow for effective troubleshooting

REQUIREMENTS

1–2 years of Workday support or HRIS experienceExperience in business process configuration, reporting, system configuration, and a solid understanding of cross-platform impacts into the Payroll module preferredExperience working with internal and external controls as it relates to HRIS and general People (HR) functionsSOX and/or finance controls experience a plusBasic understanding of various People (HR) functionsSHRM-CP, CPP, and/or FPC certification a plusProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint or their Google Suite equivalents

Experience working within a multi-unit company supporting a diverse, hourly workforceAbility to analyze and understand complex problems and their resulting dependencies Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve system issues proactively and on the flyDemonstrated discretion in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive informationAn employee first mindset with dedication to internal customer service, and company cultureAbility to manage expectations, processes, and multiple projects simultaneouslyA roll up your sleeves and dive in approach with willingness to assist other functions as needed to achieve or exceed department and company business objectives
