Casitng "Murder on Monster Island", a feature-length, non-commercial Godzilla fan film set in an alternate 1990, five years after an alien invasion changed the global balance of power. When Dr James Bowen, Director of the Monster Island Project, is found dead under suspicious circumstances, four of his closest officials become prime suspects as a kaiju containment crisis unfolds. The film is a love letter to Godzilla, tokusatsu, and classic monster movies, told as a Cold War political thriller and murder mystery. The project will also be part of a behind-the-scenes YouTube/social media series asking: can a microbudget blockbuster be made? The series will cover the process of making an ambitious feature with practical filmmaking, Blender, Unreal Engine, virtual production, and independent VFX.
