Maintenance Technician / Handyman

Overview

Royal Cinemas & World’s Tallest IMAX is looking for a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Technician / Handyman to help keep our movie theater, equipment, and facilities in great working condition. As a Maintenance Technician / Handyman, you’ll keep building interiors, facilities, and equipment safe, functional, and ready for daily use. You’ll tackle hands-on repairs across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

We need someone with a natural fix-it personality — a person who enjoys troubleshooting problems, figuring out how things work, and finding solutions. The ideal candidate has a broad range of maintenance and repair experience and is comfortable tackling a variety of tasks throughout the building.

Responsibilities

Perform general building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
Troubleshoot and repair theater seats, recliners, lighting, doors, fixtures, and other facility components.
Diagnose and address issues with appliances, equipment, and general building systems.
Handle basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other handyman tasks.
Identify maintenance issues before they become bigger problems.
Perform routine inspections and help keep the theater clean, safe, and in good working condition.
Respond to maintenance needs throughout the theater, including auditoriums, restrooms, lobby, concessions, and back-of-house areas.
Use tools and equipment safely and properly.
Take initiative, prioritize tasks, and work independently to find practical solutions.
Recognize when a repair requires a licensed or specialized professional and coordinate accordingly for approvals
Keep an organized schedule and maintenance tracker

Qualifications

Previous experience in maintenance, handyman services, building repairs, or a related field.
General knowledge of tools, equipment, and common repair methods.
A strong troubleshooting mindset and the ability to figure things out.
Resourceful, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working on a variety of projects.
Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Good attention to detail and pride in doing quality work.
Ability to communicate clearly about repairs, needed parts, and ongoing maintenance issues.
Ability to safely perform the physical duties required for general maintenance.

We are looking for a true jack-of-all-trades who enjoys fixing things and takes pride in keeping a building running smoothly. Someone who sees a loose seat, a broken fixture, a malfunctioning appliance, or another maintenance issue and immediately starts thinking about how to solve it.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Part-time; schedule to be discussed during the interview.
