The only detective in tiny Holton, Kentucky, Devon lives in the shadow of his legendary retired-cop father. He is observant, sarcastic, impatient, and instinctively good at the work, but alcohol, anxiety, and old family wounds are eating away at his sanity. When the "Handsome Jack" serial killer investigation turns brutally personal, Devon must move from dry procedural confidence through grief, panic, rage, and complete psychological collapse. This is the central open role and carries the film's emotional arc. Production is seeking an actor who can anchor a contained thriller while remaining believable as a working small-town detective.
