• A Master of Fine Arts (MFA) or Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Film Studies or a related field is required, along with a minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level. • Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty at the Fine Arts Center • Ability to effectively recruit and retain students in the program for the duration of their high school career • Strong interpersonal skills • Strong verbal and written skills Major Responsibilities: • Embrace and promote the mission, vision, and core values of the Fine Arts Center • Prepare structured lessons that encourage and foster skill and portfolio development, creative thinking skills, work ethic, and artistic vision. • Manage classroom administration and record keeping including: grades, attendance, student progress and documentation of student work. Candidates for this position must: • Balance their professional development in both the educational and creative fields • Maintain an active career in their art form while holding to their daily teaching responsibilities • Foster connections with local, national and international artists that can enhance the educational experience of the students • Work with the FAC Director to bring in guest artists that enhance the educational experience of the students • Exercise best practices in education - classroom management, effective grading strategies, timely completion of school and district tasks • Demonstrate the ability to navigate through and grow within the K-12 school district setting, meeting all school and school district professional expectations
