An autistic Math PHD student lives a present life in his corner of Los Angeles. He loves the sights of birds, the joy of gardening, and the thrill of teaching his students abstract mathematical concepts. This all changes when after reuniting with a childhood love, he is confronted with a big scary dog outside his home. Paralyzed with fear, he makes a drastic decision to kill the dog, sending him down a path of secrets and repressed childhood memory. Overcome with guilt he tries his best to lead life as if it were the same, but something is different.
