Film & Television Instructor

Riverside Community College District is seeking qualified applicants to establish a pool for part-time and/or substitute instructors in this discipline. Applications will be kept on file for one year from the date of submission. When a position becomes available, the hiring department will review the applications on file and contact the candidates they are interested in interviewing. Film, Television and Video Dept. focuses on narrative story telling. We take a hands-on approach to learning and seek an adjunct instructor who will teach film and TV courses. FTV seeks an innovative, collaborative instructor to further the entrepreneurial and career tech aim of the department. FTV values a diverse faculty and seeks to create as diverse a pool of candidates as possible.

RCC FTV Dept. includes a Film/Video production unit and a News division. Student and professional projects have earned recognition regionally and nationally, including multiple film festival and News awards.

Education: A Masters/MFA degree in Film/TV production is preferred but not required. Candidates with a blend of industry and academic experience are preferable, teaching experience in both introductory and advanced level courses, and knowledge of producing and cinematography, final cut, Premiere Pro CC and Avid, screenwriting, and producing. OR the Equivalent. (All degrees and units used to satisfy minimum qualifications must be from accredited institutions.)

Expectations include but are not limited to: teaching courses and developing curriculum at all levels for students majoring in film and TV and video production; fulfilling department, university and community service; and participating in creative and professional activities in the field.

Experience: Teaching experience is desirable.
