Film Development & Production Executive

Using Kodansha’s extensive library of IP, you will drive the sourcing, development, packaging, and sales of a robust slate of film projects. They will understand this venture as a unique opportunity to grow and advance their career. Serve as the senior creative lead on multiple feature films, with accountability for delivering competitive packages that progress to greenlight.Function as a producer-level partner to filmmakers throughout development and production, helping solve creative and logistical challenges. 10+ years in Film development role at a studio or production company.Demonstrated success shepherding films that have been produced, released, and well-received by audiences, buyers, or the critical community.Experience acting as the senior creative or producer on set, guiding department heads, resolving production challenges, and protecting creative intent while maintaining schedule and budget parameters.A reputation as a closer — someone who can meaningfully move projects forward, secure top-tier attachments, and build consensus among stakeholders.International industry experience is a plus, though not required.Passion for manga and anime a must.Comfort in a fast-paced, hybrid Los Angeles–based environment.
