Position Summary

We’re looking for UEFN Designers - creative, technically skilled, and excited to help craft interactive experiences in an expanding creative ecosystem. As a UEFN Designer, you\'ll collaborate to help build compelling playable experiences using tools like Verse scripting, asset optimization, and modular level design. We\'re looking for people who are excited by the possibilities of user-generated content (UGC).

This is an Expression of Interest opportunity for freelancers, contractors, and collaborators.

Key Responsibilities

Design and build immersive, interactive maps and environments using UEFNScript gameplay logic, events, and systems using VerseCollaborate cross-functionally with designers, artists, and creative leads to execute on the project visionOptimize assets and levels for smooth, cross-platform performanceExperiment with layouts, pacing, and modular workflows to support quick iteration

Qualifications & Skills

A portfolio or playable samples demonstrating proficiency in UEFN and Verse scriptingExperience creating polished, engaging experiences—whether narrative, competitive, social, or sandboxComfort working with both art and technical teams to troubleshoot and align visual and gameplay goalsStrong understanding of optimization best practices for real-time platformsPassion for innovative storytelling, UGC ecosystems, and pushing boundaries in new toolsExperience with 3D modeling tools (Blender, Maya, etc.) is a plusFamiliarity with Unreal Engine 5 workflows is a plusAwareness of Fortnite Creative trends and the broader UGC landscape is a plusComfort with working in a collaborative, experimental development environment

This is a temporary position with the possibility of extension based on project needs.This is an Expression of Interest role.
