Position Type: Full-Time (Exempt)

Starting Salary Range Commensurate with Experience: $60,000-$75,000.

The Little Art Theatre seeks to fill the position of a full time Executive Director. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the theatre has yet to secure a consistent leader at the helm to take this beloved community theatre into its 2nd century.

Position Summary

The Executive Director serves as the chief operational and strategic leader of the Little Art Theatre, a nonprofit, single-screen cinema dedicated to film, arts programming, education, and community engagement. The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the theater while advancing its mission, strengthening financial sustainability, and deepening community relationships.

The Executive Director needs a hybrid skill set allowing them to successfully lead all areas of the Theatre moving from curating films, to managing employees, writing grants, hosting special events, and community Q & A’s.

The Executive Director works in close communication with the Board of Directors, and committees to advance the mission of the Little Art Theatre – to provide an experience that entertains, informs and inspires.

1. Operations & Administration

Oversee daily operations of the theater, ensuring a welcoming, safe, and high-quality experience for patronsEnsure proper functioning of facilities, equipment, and systemsUpdate and implement operational procedures and policiesMaintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and nonprofit standards2. Staff & Contractor Management

Supervise, support, and evaluate staff and contractorsBring and develop a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environmentTrain new staff and develop current staff3. Programming & Community Engagement

Implement culturally significant/engaging programming and work with community to planDevelop and expand a unique and important community space through events, education, and film4. Strategic Development & Fundraising

A core component of this role is fostering a culture of philanthropy and strategic community impact.

Donor Engagement: Identify, acknowledge and interview donors to understand motivations and create strategies for successful engagement.Corporate Partnerships: Identify and cultivate mission-aligned partnerships with local organizations and businesses to expand the theater's reach as a community "third space".Grants & Strategic Alliances: Actively pursue state, national, and private funding opportunities, including Ohio Arts Council and Ohio Historic Preservation tax credits.5. Governance & Accountability

The Executive Director acts as the vital link between the board's strategic aspirations and the theater's execution of those plans.

Board Development: Support the board in identifying skills gaps,and assist in implementing accountability tools like the RACI matrix for good stewardship.Impact Reporting: Implement monthly progress reporting to keep the board informed on strategic KPIs and financial benchmarks.Visionary Leadership: Ensure that every resource allocated today serves the theater's "North Star," guaranteeing it remains a resilient community treasure for decades to come.Requirements: 3 to 5 years nonprofit or business management experience with strong financial management, fundraising, and communication skills.
