Director, Yale Film Archive

As the Director, you will play a pivotal role in preserving and promoting our extensive collection of films, while also providing critical support to our academic community. Join us in shaping the future of film studies at one of the world's most prestigious academic institutions.\n\nOversee the daily operations and management of the Yale Film Archive, ensuring the preservation and accessibility of the collection.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for the acquisition, cataloging, and preservation of new film materials.
Collaborate with other university departments and external organizations to expand the collection and promote its use for academic research and educational purposes.
Supervise and mentor a team of archival staff, providing guidance and support in their roles.
Participate in fundraising and grant writing efforts to secure funding for the archive’s ongoing preservation and expansion projects.
Develop and maintain relationships with filmmakers, distributors, and other industry professionals to enhance the collection and promote the archive’s resources.
Plan and oversee public events, screenings, and exhibitions related to the film archive, engaging the university community and the general public.
Stay up-to-date with advancements in film preservation and technology, and implement best practices to ensure the long-term preservation of the collection.
Work closely with faculty and students to support their research and teaching needs, providing access to the film archive’s resources and expertise.
Serve as a representative for the Yale Film Archive at conferences, meetings, and other professional events, promoting the archive’s mission and accomplishments.
