Director of Programming The Director works alongside the Executive Director, Director of Education, and Festival & Education Manager to create a cohesive annual festival and year-round experience. Continuum and Year-Round ProgrammingHelp develop an annual calendar of screenings, panels, conversations, workshops, and special programs.Work with leadership, community organizations, filmmakers, and partners to identify opportunities.Recommend films, filmmakers, moderators, speakers, jurors, distributors, and program themes.Connect year-round programming with education, community relationships, artist support, and organizational goals.Allow sufficient lead time for rights, partnerships, marketing, sponsorship, educational integration, and event planning. With EducationIdentify films, filmmakers, speakers, and industry professionals for education and workforce initiatives.Connect festival programming with student engagement and learning.Collaborate on panels and conversations about filmmaking and the industry.With Festival OperationsDevelop screening schedules with the Festival & Education Manager and Executive Director.Communicate venue, technical, filmmaker, moderator, guest, and Q&A needs early.Align programming priorities with operational realities and provide active leadership during the festival.With Marketing and PRIdentify compelling stories, premieres, Oklahoma connections, notable guests, trends, and themes.Provide accurate film information and assets by established deadlines.Participate in audience development and promotional opportunities.With Development and Executive LeadershipProvide programming stories, filmmaker information, outcomes, and materials supporting grants, sponsorships, donors, and community investment.Participate in selected partner or funder conversations when programming expertise is beneficial. Success will be reflected in strong Festival and Continuum programming; a fair, timely selection process; an engaged team; cross-departmental trust; responsible management of budgets, deadlines, and relationships; positive experiences for filmmakers, audiences, partners, and staff; strong community and industry relationships; accurate institutional knowledge; and a culture of respect, transparency, and accountability.
