We are looking for a director of photography with an extensive background in lighting design. Our hope is to find someone who has a playful, artistic mind for lighting set ups. Our film is heavily centered on cartography, and the lighting design works in conjunction with this — creating a sort of mapping system within a static frame.
The film is composed of long-takes in these wide-shot, 'mapped' set-ups. It has a poetic and expressive tone in the vein of independent European and Middle-Eastern cinema, inspired by the work of Albert Serra, Alice Rohrwacher, and Abbas Kiarostami.
We will film over a the span of four weekends — Friday - Sunday — one weekend in the Fall and three weekends in the Spring.
