DINNER WITH GIACOMO is a black-and-white narrative short film and dark comedy influenced by Italian comedies, French Nouvelle Vague cinema and the Czech New Wave. The story follows Darryl, a struggling New York filmmaker, and his actress girlfriend June as they host a high-stakes dinner for Darryl’s wealthy, charismatic cousin Giacomo, hoping he will finance Darryl’s first feature film. As the evening progresses, the dinner spirals into a darkly comic clash of ambition, attraction, ego and emotional revelation. The film is character-driven and visually expressive, with an emphasis on emotional geography, visual rhythm and spatial relationships. We are seeking a choreographer / movement collaborator for a key dance sequence that explores intimacy, playfulness and shifting emotional dynamics between two characters.
