Role DescriptionJ and R Films, LLC™ is seeking a Contract Costume / Wardrobe Designer based in Charlotte, NC.
The Costume / Wardrobe Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and preparing costumes for our upcoming feature film A Cry In The Dark (ACITD). Responsibilities include collaborating with the Director and production team, researching wardrobe styles reflective of character narratives, sourcing or creating garments, and ensuring costume quality aligns with production standards. This role plays a key part in bringing characters to life and shaping the visual tone of the film.
Note: Production location will be discussed privately with selected candidates.QualificationsExpertise in Costume Design, Fashion Design, or Wardrobe StylingStrong understanding of character‑driven wardrobe designExperience in film or theater costume design (highly desirable)Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and adaptabilityStrong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to manage wardrobe logistics, sourcing, and budgetingPortfolio demonstrating previous workBachelor’s degree in Costume Design, Fashion Design, or related field (preferred but not required)
