Community College Faculty - Cinema Instructor

This is an opportunity for a teaching position during the Fall and Spring Semester of the 2026 - 2027 academic year that may be renewed for the following Academic year at the discretion of the Dean of the School of Design and the Arts. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Evaluate and assess student progress toward learning goals. Evaluate and assess student progress toward learning goals.Maintain consistent communication with students and colleaguesSupport the mission, vision and core values of the collegePromote diversity and cultural competencyParticipate actively in the college community through committee work and inter-departmental collaborationBuilding and maintaining professional industry and community relationshipsRequirements Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for the Minnesota State credential field of Cinema.Education Requirement Bachelor's degree in cinema/film or visual arts or Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 20 semester credits (30 quarter credits) in cinema/film or visual arts.Occupational Experience Requirement Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in the cinema/film field.Recency Requirement One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. Community College Experience – two or more years of teaching experience in a community or combined community and technical collegeDemonstrated teaching in multiple modalities, including fully online and blended models.Understanding of, and sensitivity to, the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty, and staff.Evidence of adapting classroom practice and pedagogy to meet the needs of students.Experience with the development of assessment strategies and practices across all levels: classroom, department, and college.Demonstrated willingness to participate through committee work and/or student activities.Demonstrated contributions to student growth and development through retention measures, student mentoring, and student activities.Benefits
