Assist with the daily functioning of the department and work actively to increase the department''s visibility and outreach. Provide administrative support during the academic year; assume receptionist duties over the summer months.Manage budgets and track expenditures.Organize and maintain production documents and user guides, departmental library resources and film/digital archives, including past student work.Assist with the process of bringing visiting artists and scholars to the department, including the organization and arrangements for the visit, publicity, and coordination with other departments. Contact, negotiate, and develop relationships with these organizations toward that end.Work to engage alumni for visits and interaction with current students and recent graduates.Act as a liaison with prospective students and engage in outreach to help recruit potential students.Help organize off-campus trips to engage students with professional filmmakers and artists.Oversee mailings.Coordinate the department's master calendar, review and process requests to reserve meeting spaces, and ensure scheduling is completed in a timely, competent fashion.Communicate with faculty, staff, and students across the University, in a professional manner, as part of informing them about Cinema programs and resources.Assist students with equipment check-outs as needed.Perform other duties as required.Job may require some off-campus travel.
