Front Desk Lead Student Worker at the School of Theatre – Suzanne Chambliss

This position is open only to students who have accepted Federal Work-Study or President’s Aid.

Position overview

The School of Theatre & Film seeks a student employee who is self-aware, responsible, dependable, and in possession of excellent people skills to serve in the front-facing position of Front Desk Lead. Tuesday or Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Job Duties

• Greet visitors (students, staff, faculty, and the public) and assist with their needs, providing a high level of customer service.

• Answer phone calls, directing constituents as needed.

• Receive packages, distribute, and prepare outgoing mail.

• Monitor the supplies inventory and copy machines, re-stock as necessary.

• Assist with room scheduling, key distribution, and locker distribution.

• Serve as backup with box office operations to include some nights and weekends, only as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Duties

Monitor Building when offices are closed.
You will have to answer questions from people coming to the office and open classrooms for faculty and students that have previously reserved them.
Sell tickets to patrons, faculty, staff and students
Answer customer questions about schedules, pricing, seating availability and venues
Handle Payments accurately utilizing computers, iPads, and other box office equipment
Handle ticket exchanges & refunds in accordance with School Policies
Provide excellent customer service
You should be able to cover for at least 10 hours within these times:

Tuesday or Thursday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Starting salary: $10 hourly
