OverviewAssistant Teaching Professor of Film and Video Production in the Department of Communication at Wake Forest University (R0008114). At Wake Forest, teaching professors hold a renewable position, contingent on successful annual reviews, with an initial appointment of two years. Like all faculty, they are expected to support the Wake Forest University mission through service to the department, the College of Liberal Arts, and the University. Position ResponsibilitiesTeach six courses per academic year (9-month basis), which may include:Beginning and advanced media productionScreenwritingIntroduction to Critical and Creative MediaCourses in the candidate’s area of specializationContribute to equipment management and departmental serviceEngage with students as both a mentor and a collaborator in creative practicePosition QualificationsRequired:Either a terminal degree (MFA or PhD) or a significant record of professional experience–10+ years.Preferred:College-level teaching experience or lower-level if focused in production.Broad skills and experience across pre-production, production, and post-productionAdditional InformationCritical and Creative Media is a major within the Department of Communication.
