Assistant Professor in Film and Media Production

The successful applicant will be a filmmaker focusing on narrative fictional media (including shorts, features, and/or episodic narratives), have an established or promising record of accomplishment of screenings at festivals or via other exhibition and distribution platforms, and demonstrate an innovative teaching philosophy and practice. We invite applicants with a vibrant portfolio of work (completed or in progress) and an MFA or PhD in hand at the time of appointment. Preferred Education and Experience: An MFA or PhD in Film Production and a strong conceptual and technical understanding of the field and a record of training and mentoring undergraduates as creative artists. The Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) area in the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology offers interdisciplinary degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with undergraduate concentrations in Art History, Communication, Dance, Film Studies, Interdisciplinary Arts, Music, Theatre, Photo/Video/Digital, and Visual Art.
