This course develops professional competencies in AI-based video generation, prompt engineering, hybrid production workflows, and integration of AI-generated content into industry-standard post-production pipelines. Teach a two-hour weekly synchronous class session in person at the SFFS campus (Fridays, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. PT).Deliver instruction that is academically rigorous, project-based, and aligned with stated course outcomes.Facilitate meaningful instructor-student and student-student interaction through studio work, structured critique, and applied exercises.Guide students through progressive portfolio development across the 15-week term, from foundational generation techniques through professional finishing.Maintain an inclusive learning environment and uphold clear academic expectations and community standards. Use SFFS instructional systems (institutional LMS, videoconferencing, and portfolio platforms) to post materials, manage gradebooks, and communicate with students.Hold regular office hours and respond to student communications professionally and promptly.Support continuous course improvement in collaboration with SFFS academic leadership, including updates that reflect the rapid evolution of AI tooling and industry practice. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in film, digital media, creative arts, or a closely related discipline.Minimum of five years of documented professional work in the discipline.Demonstrated professional portfolio in AI filmmaking, including finished work that integrates AI-generated video with professional post-production workflows.Working proficiency with industry-standard AI video generation platforms and Adobe Creative Suite, including non-linear editing and motion graphics software.Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in a synchronous, studio-based environment, including facilitation of critique and applied learning.Strong written communication skills and a commitment to timely, professional student communication.Ability to evaluate creative work using clear criteria and provide actionable feedback.Residence in the San Francisco Bay Area with the ability and willingness to commute regularly to the SFFS campus. Master's degree (MFA or equivalent) in film, digital media, creative arts, or a closely related discipline.Professional experience delivering AI filmmaking work in commercial, agency, or independent production contexts.Prior teaching experience in higher education or equivalent professional training settings.Background in prompt engineering, computational creativity, or emerging generative media practice.Demonstrated engagement with the critical and aesthetic dimensions of AI in filmmaking, including the relationship between human creative vision and machine-generated content.Experience building syllabi, assessments, and rubrics for project-based creative coursework.
